The Residents
The Chalon House is home to Jim & Scott, but it has a variety of other residents as well. There are 6 miniature horses- Midnight, Autumn, Rascal & Dixie, Bella and baby Summer, Ajax the mini donkey, Francis the tiny mule, 3 little goats, a baby pot bellied pig- Fancy, and four ghosts.
The horses make their home in the back yard between the house and the slave quarters. Also in the backyard is the old slave. We don't know who he is but he can be seen standing near the slave quarters, often in broad daylight.
Jim & Scott share the house with Fancy and three other ghosts, one is a former owner and the identity of the other is unknown, possibly Juliette, a former house slave. There is also a faceless apararition that appears in the grand hall. One is mischievous, always moving things around and turning lights on & off. The other is a guardian who watches over the house and seems to keep the other ones under control. Someone once said they didn't believe in ghosts, Jim's reply was "Neither do I, but they don't give a damn what I believe!"
All in all it's colorful household that makes for an interesting stay. Where else can you stay and tell your friends that you played with a 2ft tall horse, shared your lunch with a tiny pig and passed a ghost in the hallway? Make your stay memorable, visit the Chalon House!
