The Chalon House is a gracious old Creole Cottage with all of the modern amenities. The house was built in 1830 by Joseph Chalon, a wealthy Free Man of Colour . It is one of only six homes built in the Creole style that has always been a single residence. The home was remodeled in 1894 by the Coiron family & extensively restored in 2009 by Jim Farrell & Scott Loyed.
Located at 1624 Governor Nicholls Street the house is a quick 5 block walk to the French Quarter and neighbors include the Black History Museum, the historic St Augustine Church and a few blocks down the street, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Nicholas Cage.
